Give each forwarder the same booking brief

- Ask for named ports, transshipment stops, booking validity and which charges can change.
- Ask whether a route carries your exact vehicle type and what the carrier needs on the booking date. A quote alone does not reserve space.
Keep a condition record for both options
Keep dated departure photographs with the vehicle list and bill of lading or other transport reference. For a container, the loading plan should identify the assigned cars and vehicle lashing arrangements. Obtain the packing and securing records that the receiving team will need for unloading and comparison.
Price terminal handling charges, packing or unpacking, and any port storage outside the freight offer. Review the cargo insurance for the same handover points and route. Electric vehicle shipping also needs the carrier's current instructions for the car's battery status and condition; a quotation alone does not establish acceptance.
How many cars fit in a container?
Ask the loading provider for a plan using the actual length, width, height, weight and ground clearance of each model. Include the proposed container, securing equipment, access for loading and unloading, and any restrictions on stacking or racking. Do not price an order around a generic cars-per-container claim.
For a mix of SUVs, sedans or vans, confirm which VINs are assigned to each load. Ask for the loading photographs and the agreed securing record. The receiving party also needs an unloading plan and responsibility for returning the empty equipment.
